Management Service for Slaughterhouses Producing PDO Pork Meat Products

This service was created to comply with the provisions set out in Reg. EEC No. 3220/84, European Commission Decision 2001/468/EC of 8 June 2001 and the Implementing Decree of 11 July 2002 on the detailed rules for the application of the Community scale for grading pig carcasses.


The purpose is to coordinate the control system required by the aforementioned legislation with that established for PDO productions (which represent 75% of national pig slaughtering), coinciding with the certification and control area for the PDO "Gran Suino Padano", the application for which has already been notified to Brussels pursuant to Reg. (EEC) 2081/92, intended to cover all fresh meat cuts obtained from the same carcasses.

In this initial phase, the following electronic services are available:

  • Submission of slaughterhouse registration data to INEQ – Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies
  •  Daily cumulative slaughter declaration, listing and detailing all batches of pigs slaughtered on the same day
