A SCIA - Certified Notification of Commencement of Business - is a statement that allows the entrepreneur to start, modify, transfer or cease a productive business activity (craftsmanship, trade, manufacturing), or to deliver services, without the need for prior verifications and inspections by the relevant authorities.
The SCIA, pursuant to Art. 19 of Law 241/90, in fact produces immediate effects: the entrepreneur can start the work/activity from the date of submission of the SCIA.
The public administrations to which the Scia is addressed will then ascertain, within 60 days of receipt of the submission, the truthfulness of the declarations provided therein and, in the event of a negative outcome, will adopt measures prohibiting the continuation of the activity.
