Decree-Law No. 124/2023 establishes, as of 1 January 2024, the Special Economic Zone for Southern Italy - 'ZES unica', which includes the territories of the regions of Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Apulia, Sicily and Sardinia and replaces the current Special Economic Zones divided into 8 different administrative structures.
The Minister for Public Administration announces that within the framework of the M1C1 Component of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, an agreement with Unioncamere and an agreement with Invitalia were recently signed by the Civil Service Department in relation to the implementation of sub-investment 2.2.3 for the digitalisation of SUAP-SUE procedures (One-Stop Shop for Productive Activities and One-Stop Shop for Construction): a systemic intervention at the national level that aims to have a high impact for citizens and businesses thanks to a completely digital, timely and homogeneous management of administrative procedures throughout the country.
Within the scope of this Web Portal, the start-up of the Digital One-Stop Shops of the eight Special Economic Zones (ZES) set up with the aim of attracting investment and fostering the growth of operating businesses or the establishment of new ones in as many port and back-port areas of the country, has been completed. Businesses wishing to establish themselves in a Special Economic Zone will benefit from tax concessions and a simplification of the administrative procedures required for setting up their business based on the release of a Single ZES Authorisation by the Extraordinary Commissioner of the ZES. In order to promote awareness of the opportunities related to locating in ZES areas and to illustrate the procedures for submitting a Single ZES authorisation application through the digital One-Stop Shop, a series of webinars specifically dedicated to businesses has been scheduled for November.
